Child Poverty summit Funding
Every child deserves a future. Help us make it possible.
A two-day gathering in Abuja bringing together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, communities, young people, philanthropic partners, and the private sector to turn policy into action for millions of children.
One Nigeria Citizenship Appreciation Initiative (Project One) invites you to become a valued sponsor, donor, or strategic partner of the 2027 National Summit on Child Poverty in Nigeria, taking place in May 2027 in Abuja. We’re respectfully seeking your partnership, collaboration, and financial support to address one of Nigeria’s most urgent development challenges: child poverty.
Why this summit matters
Despite Nigeria’s position as Africa’s largest economy, millions of children continue to experience severe deprivation that limits their opportunities and undermines the nation’s future. Child poverty remains deeply entrenched and multifaceted, extending beyond low household income to include inadequate access to education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, protection, and basic living standards.
Recent evidence from the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) and child-focused poverty studies confirms that child poverty in Nigeria is widespread and persistent, requiring coordinated action across sectors and levels of government. Policies and programmes exist, but implementation gaps continue to limit their impact.
It will provide a unique platform for academics, policymakers, practitioners, community organisations, NGOs, philanthropists, and development partners to critically examine existing challenges, identify implementation barriers, and co-design practical, scalable, evidence-based solutions.
Summit overview
The two-day summit will convene approximately 250 to 300 participants in high-level policy discussions, technical workshops, case-study presentations, and collaborative action-planning sessions. By bringing together local, multi-sector stakeholders, the summit will help translate existing child poverty alleviation policies into actionable, community-driven strategies that strengthen implementation, accountability, and collaboration across Nigeria’s development ecosystem.
The summit will culminate in a jointly developed Policy-to-Action Framework, outlining priority steps for strengthening child poverty-elimination efforts over the next 24 months.
24-month action horizonWhy your support matters
The success of this landmark summit depends on the generosity and commitment of organisations and individuals who believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Your contribution will directly support the participation of young people with lived experience of poverty, facilitate critical policy dialogues, strengthen multi-sector collaboration, and help develop actionable solutions that can transform the lives of millions of children across Nigeria.
No contribution is too small. Whether through financial sponsorship, programme funding, in-kind support, or strategic partnership, your investment will help catalyse meaningful change and accelerate efforts to end child poverty in Nigeria.
Together, we can move beyond discussion to action and build a future where every Nigerian child has access to education, healthcare, protection, opportunity, and hope.
